iPhone ahoy!

So I joined the masses of Apple-faithfuls this morning at the opening of the new Apple store in Madison. As an engineering and Computer Science double-major back in school, I’ve spent quite a few hours around geeks of many shapes and sizes. In line this morning, I was amazed not at the number of obvious geeks in line, but rather at their extreme roundness. This must be what happens to people after college who spend a large amount of their days in front of a computer with a healthy supply of cheese-based products within reach.

I ended up getting an iphone, as was my intention. First reactions? I am amazed that they fit as much as they did into such a small device with such a beautiful interface. And the text auto-correcting is pretty good too.

Some advice for those geeks in line: get an iphone and take it to the gym. Now you can surf the web while you blast your abs.
